Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, Ill. – Komori America—Knight Abbey Printing and Direct Mail, a second-generation woman-owned full-service commercial printing company located in Biloxi, MS, has purchased its first Komori press, a six-color Lithrone SX29 (LSX629) customized with Komori’s exclusive LED XO+ curing system. While the wide range of advanced technology the LSX629 offers was key in the decision, it was Komori’s consultative approach that ultimately won the business.

“The reason I chose Komori out of the three or four vendors I looked at was the customer experience in buying the press,” said Tonya Spiers, president of Knight Abbey. “From the moment I sat down at the table with Komori to go over all the options that were available, they established trust with me. As a team, we reviewed the solutions that would provide the best fit for Knight Abbey’s needs and the customers we support. To continue our success as a company, I believe it is important for our vendors to be an integral part of our business. Because Komori approached our decision-making process as a true partner, I knew Knight Abbey was in great hands. This new press is going to be a game-changer for us.”

Spiers has been the driving force behind the growth of her father’s company, which she purchased from him when it came time for him to retire. Today, 40-year-old Knight Abbey is one of the largest printers in the South. A majority of the company’s business comes from the competitive gaming industry, with more than five million pieces of time-sensitive promotional mail going out of the building monthly. Hence, speeding jobs through production is critical. Komori recommended the LSX629 with Komori’s exclusive LED XO+ curing system so jobs can go right to bindery without delay. The LED XO+ capabilities will further enhance Knight Abbey’s ability to provide value-added print solutions by printing on difficult stocks, like uncoated or matte.

“The speed of this press is going to make it possible to get jobs out the door up to 30 percent faster, speeding up projects for our customers. I am excited as getting to market faster will make them more competitive and see a quicker return on their investment,” said Spiers. “I am also excited to have Komori as a partner as I know they will continue to support us in finding ways to offer our customers more value. Working with Komori is going to be a rewarding experience for Knight Abbey.”
